Non-Core Activities
By outsourcing logistics activities companies can allow themselves to look closely at their own specialised skills. Quite often companies outsource the logistics activity of their core product and then add on other ancillary requirements such as Marketing and Administrative collateral.
As specialisation has grown in outsourced logistics there has been a tendency to build large systems that cope very well with large quantities of homogenous product. This has created efficiencies that make outsourcing of logistics capabilities a financially viable option. In this process there has not been much development for items that do not fit these systems. The add-ons that have been left with third party logistics providers become a headache as they do not have the same physical characteristics as the core product. Quite often they are also managed by another division within the organisation.
At PMA we have developed a specialisation that targets what most other logistics providers steer away from. We concentrate on managing what is not in our customers primary focus, we help them deal with what is in their periphery vision. Quite often there is so much in the periphery that will distract management from concentrating their focus on their core products and services.
Your Periphery is our Focus.
Instead of making them fit our systems we make our systems fit their needs
By utilising PMA companies are able to concentrate on what they believe they do best, knowing that their peripheral activity is being looked after by people that see that activity as their primary focus.
Our Customer Service Team and Account Managers are constantly dealing with Agencies, Marketing Departments, Function Coordinators and Administration Managers. Quite often these are people without logistics training but they have measurable goals and targets to meet. We work with our clients to ensure their targets are met or exceeded and that the best processes available are utilised. Instead of making them fit our systems we make our systems fit their needs.
You only pay for what you use
To ensure our clients get value for their money we only bill for activities undertaken and for storage actually used. There are no extras such as management fees, administration charges or licensing fees.
All charges are covered by an agreement that sets the charges for all activities and storage rates. Activities are all client activated so control of these charges is fully controlled by them. Storage is charged monthly but calculated daily so a peak in receipting will not necessarily result in a peak in billing.
You control your own stock movements
All PMA clients have access to our web enabled stock ordering and reporting systems. This will allow clients to keep supplies up to where they are needed at anytime no matter where they are. Clients are also given access to a reporting suite that will allow them to manage their ordering process ensuring stock is available when it is needed.
Clients needs vary greatly. In designing our systems we have been careful not to place limits on the capability of the system that might at some stage block a client request. All client requests have so far been able to be fulfilled by our in-house IT staff. Whether clients have needed to consolidate orders, streamline the ordering process or limit the allocation of stock to their divisions, PMA has been able to deliver a working solution.
Flexibility
everything from surfboards to cocktail glasses to pink elephants ...
The cornerstone of what we do is flexibility. We take our client’s non-core inventory and make it available to them when and where it is needed. We know how time critical your conference delivery or marketing campaign is. To get the product to arrive on time and in good order we constantly evaluate different methods of packaging, handling and transport.
By working with our clients PMA has developed systems to cope with some interesting concepts. Apart from printed products, we have delivered everything from surfboards to cocktail glasses to pink elephants. And many of these products are then collected and booked back into our warehouse to be used again.
Instead of building a system to cope with certain physical properties we have developed a means of coping with all types of product and delivery requirements.
